# Life in the Village

**Experience community – Take responsibility**

The Lietz Boarding School Village in Haubinda is more than just a school—it is a
vibrant community. Surrounded by nature on **over 90 hectares of land**, children,
teenagers, and adults live and learn together in a unique community. Here, education,
leisure, democracy, and sustainability are intertwined, making Haubinda a **place
full of possibilities**.

## Democracy in the School State

A central part of village life is our student council. Here, students take on **
responsibility **for their community.

**Student council, student body president election, and their own budget**: Young
people are actively helping to shape their school.

**Student Court**: Conflicts are resolved democratically—just like in a real courtroom.

**Equality**: Teachers, staff, and students are all equal members of the community.

This is how young people learn what democracy means—not just in theory, but in their
daily lives.
